Cookies
Last updated 9 September 2026
Repost sets one cookie, to keep you signed in. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers — the site loads no tracking code at all. That is why there is no consent banner here: cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for do not require one.
What is actually set
| Name | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
repost_session | Keeps you signed in. Signed, HTTP-only and unreadable to JavaScript. Contains an account reference and a signature — nothing else. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
x_verifier, meta_state | Set only while you are connecting an X or Instagram account, to verify that the reply came back from the same request you started. Cleared the moment the connection finishes. | Minutes |
Things kept in your browser, not sent anywhere
A few preferences are stored in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and are not cookies:
- Light or dark theme
- Which brand you last had selected
- When you last visited, so Today can show what changed since
- Which due-post reminders you have already been shown
Clearing your browser data removes all of it, and nothing breaks.
Turning them off
You can block cookies in your browser, but the session cookie is what signing in is — without it Repost cannot keep you logged in. Signing out clears it immediately.
If Repost ever adds analytics, this page will say so before it happens, and a real consent choice will come with it.
